Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week. Today, I'm going to share how I altered this vintage spoon I had picked up at the Lost and Found Market. It had so much character that I just couldn't let it go.
To get started, all you need, other than basic supplies, is an old silverware piece (which you can usually find at thrift stores):
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Lace
- Sparkles/Glitter (Optional)
- Dusty Attic Chipboard - Knife & Fork (Optional)
- Other Embellishments (Gather all that you think will go!)
Getting started
Step 1:
Start by cutting out the pieces you want to use for altering the spoon.
Step 2:
Place the main images you want to use on the spoon to get some idea on what you wanted to do.
Step 3:
Assemble with Mod Podge the bigger images. Go back to add the little embellishments later.
Step 4:
Sprinkle some sparkles on to the spoon while Mod Podge is on. Also add some beads for glittery goodness!
Step 5:
Add embossing powder to the Dusty Attic chipboard embellishments, and use a heat gun to set. This time I used black and gold to add to the vintage charm.
Step 6:
Now is the fun part. (I think so, anyway!) Add the chipboard, and the little final touches of laces, etc.. Whatever your heart desires!
Step 7:
Admire your Altered Spoon! :)
Here it is hanging next to the Caddy in my kitchen:
Here's a quick Before/After. Love the vintage but fun pop of color it brings to this corner:
Thanks for coming by! xo. Divya
