DIY Coffee coasters in under an hour!

Coasters are super functional for sure, so why not make some fun ones for your home? Coasters of all kinds can be made with scraps you have right at home, and personalized to your liking!

I had purchased these chipboard coasters from Bunnings ages ago (which I had completely forgotten about!), so thought why not make them into some fun coasters that I can use around the house! You could use cork coasters, or tiles, or wood if you like.

Upcycled thrift store find: Altered Spoon (Tutorial)

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week. Today, I'm going to share how I altered this vintage spoon I had picked up at the Lost and Found Market. It had so much character that I just couldn't let it go.

To get started, all you need, other than basic supplies, is an old silverware piece (which you can usually find at thrift stores):

Craft Room Doodle wall

As soon as I had my own space for myself, I had to make it my own. Whether you have your own studio or a corner of your bedroom for your crafting, I feel this is a must to personalize your creative space and let the ideas flow. So, what better than to paint a wall? I did not want to simply paint it a color since I had already done that in other parts of my home. This had to be UNIQUE, so I went about scribbling for some ideas. And that's when I realized, what better than Doodling? Here is a draft I made incorporating everything I love:

"10 Highlights" mini album

Hi friends,

With Valentine's day just about a month away, today I share a mini album I had made for my valentine last year! It could also be a perfect anniversary or a wedding gift for a couple.

So, the concept of the mini album was 10 highlights of our relationship, or the 10 things we love doing together. I also added 10 photos I love of us along with it! Since it was a Valentine gift, I wanted to use pink for the cover. To embellish the cover, used some jillibean soup alphabets, lace, and a charm. :) The inside pages have cute little tabs as well.

Unfortunately, I do not have more pictures of the inside.

Hubby loved it. Hope you do too, and get inspired to make something for your valentine!

Love,
Divya

Picture Film Reels!

I had these picture wheel dies by Tim Holtz, and had been thinking of what to do with those when I saw this cute cute snow fun film album by Sizzix. I was inspired to make something like that, and here is what I did with it.!

(P.S. - This post is picture heavy!)

Picture wheel no. 1

I wanted to make something for a cute tiny tot who was turning two. So, I took blue as the theme. Added a filmstrip with images of him growing up, and then decorated with some flowers, jute string, burlap, ribbon, lace, and a cute big baby pin.

Altered travel suitcase with "Memories" mini album

Folks, in this post I share an altered travel suitcase I had created. In it, is an altered mini album along with an envelope to store more pictures. There is space to add any memorabilia collected on the trip as well.

Suitcase:

I had picked up this suitcase box at a discounted price, and I wanted to do something with it. So, I thought what better than to make a travel suitcase. I first painted it with acrylic paint. After the paint dried, I stamped it a bit to get background. Then I used scrapbook paper, envelope, jute string, paper and fabric blooms, washi tape, tags, stickers, and other embellishments.

Recipe Book Binder

In this blog post, I share a recipe book binder I had made some time back. This can be a perfect gift for someone who loves cooking, and a great way to organize all the recipes collected through the years!

(P.S. - This is a picture heavy post!)

Here is the front of the binder. I titled the book as "Mummy ka magic" meaning Mom's magical cooking since I was gifting it to my mom to store all her amazing recipes. I used scrapbook paper to cover the front, back and the spine. I used chalkboard labels for the front, some washi tape, lace, chipboard cutlery, and simple embellishments.

Baby Card/(Micro) Mini album!

Hi folks,

So in this blog post, I share a card I had made at the arrival of a baby boy. I made the card to look like a baby dungaree. Loved this color combination, thought it added some brightness and deviated a little from the blues that I love. I added some buttons to the dungaree which were embossed with stars, and made a huge pocket to add a micro-mini album with pictures of the baby.

"Family time" Mini album

Folks, in this post I share a mini album I had made titled, "Family time", which was an anniversary gift. I created the front and back cover with chipboard, and used some natural colors, decorating them with flowers, doilies, and some bling. Used some lace for binding, and thought it looked super cute!

I wanted to then make a sleeve to put this album inside. For that, I recycled some cereal boxes (again!) Hot glued them together to make this design. Then modpodged some pretty scrapbook paper. Added some lace, flowers, and bling, and voila!

Hope you like it, and are inspired to do something crafty today!

Love,
Divya

Retirement Card/Album!

This was among one of the first scrapbooking albums I had created. I think I had made this back in 2010 as a project for retirement. At that point of time, I did not exactly know what kind of craft I was getting into, and due to the lack of resources, I had handmade EVERYTHING! I even sketched out the embellishments and the letters myself! Tied all this using lace to finish it all.

This was the cover:

Fun and creative Luggage tags!

Hello folks!

So this post is all about creating your own luggage tags!
These luggage tags are super simple to make.

Tag no. 1

So for this tag, I basically created my own artwork :) I love the colorful "autos" in India, and made something inspired by those. Sketched out an auto, use water colors to paint it, then used a ball point pen to write a sentiment.. "Hanste Hanste Kat Jaye Raste" meaning "Happily our journey shall pass".
Used the self lamination sheets to laminate the tag and seal it properly, and voila, a creative cute tag is ready!
