Behind the Scenes - Explosion box!

Every project takes so much time and patience from start to finish to get everything perfect! Here are some photos I have taken while creating the Butterfly Explosion box. Had the best time – creating, taking pictures, more creating, and enjoying the creative process from start to finish.

Papercuts and trims - Getting measurements right is the first step to every project!

"10 Highlights" mini album

Hi friends,

With Valentine's day just about a month away, today I share a mini album I had made for my valentine last year! It could also be a perfect anniversary or a wedding gift for a couple.

So, the concept of the mini album was 10 highlights of our relationship, or the 10 things we love doing together. I also added 10 photos I love of us along with it! Since it was a Valentine gift, I wanted to use pink for the cover. To embellish the cover, used some jillibean soup alphabets, lace, and a charm. :) The inside pages have cute little tabs as well.

Unfortunately, I do not have more pictures of the inside.

Hubby loved it. Hope you do too, and get inspired to make something for your valentine!

Love,
Divya

Picture Film Reels!

I had these picture wheel dies by Tim Holtz, and had been thinking of what to do with those when I saw this cute cute snow fun film album by Sizzix. I was inspired to make something like that, and here is what I did with it.!

(P.S. - This post is picture heavy!)

Picture wheel no. 1

I wanted to make something for a cute tiny tot who was turning two. So, I took blue as the theme. Added a filmstrip with images of him growing up, and then decorated with some flowers, jute string, burlap, ribbon, lace, and a cute big baby pin.

Altered travel suitcase with "Memories" mini album

Folks, in this post I share an altered travel suitcase I had created. In it, is an altered mini album along with an envelope to store more pictures. There is space to add any memorabilia collected on the trip as well.

Suitcase:

I had picked up this suitcase box at a discounted price, and I wanted to do something with it. So, I thought what better than to make a travel suitcase. I first painted it with acrylic paint. After the paint dried, I stamped it a bit to get background. Then I used scrapbook paper, envelope, jute string, paper and fabric blooms, washi tape, tags, stickers, and other embellishments.

Baby Card/(Micro) Mini album!

Hi folks,

So in this blog post, I share a card I had made at the arrival of a baby boy. I made the card to look like a baby dungaree. Loved this color combination, thought it added some brightness and deviated a little from the blues that I love. I added some buttons to the dungaree which were embossed with stars, and made a huge pocket to add a micro-mini album with pictures of the baby.

"Family time" Mini album

Folks, in this post I share a mini album I had made titled, "Family time", which was an anniversary gift. I created the front and back cover with chipboard, and used some natural colors, decorating them with flowers, doilies, and some bling. Used some lace for binding, and thought it looked super cute!

I wanted to then make a sleeve to put this album inside. For that, I recycled some cereal boxes (again!) Hot glued them together to make this design. Then modpodged some pretty scrapbook paper. Added some lace, flowers, and bling, and voila!

Hope you like it, and are inspired to do something crafty today!

Love,
Divya

Retirement Card/Album!

This was among one of the first scrapbooking albums I had created. I think I had made this back in 2010 as a project for retirement. At that point of time, I did not exactly know what kind of craft I was getting into, and due to the lack of resources, I had handmade EVERYTHING! I even sketched out the embellishments and the letters myself! Tied all this using lace to finish it all.

This was the cover:

Mini Album - A perfect Wedding Gift!

Hi folks,

In this post, I share a recent mini album which I had made as a gift to a cousin at his wedding. The mini album contains about 20 pages.

The front and the back of the mini was meant to resemble a gathbandhan (a wedding knot). The maroon front with the sequin and gold lace signifies the girl's saree and the pink back signifies the dupatta on the boy's shoulder at the wedding ceremony. For a closure, I used a gorgeous gold pearl brooch, and added a metal clasp to it. I also added some pearls and beads as danglers.

For the background, I used acrylic paints to get some brightness. For the title of the album, I used adhesive stickers and adhesive sheets on bright orange cardstock, and then used gold foil over it to get an embossed look. I also made gold embossed metal corners with gold foil to give a rich royal look that is a complete must at Indian weddings!

"Brag Box" with Mini Albums

So, this was a gift to "new" grandparents. The concept was to alter a box that can house all lovely pictures and moments of their grandson. But I did not want to make a big album inside it, since that is not very mobile. Instead, I added small mini albums inside that can be taken out and viewed.

(Please note that this post is picture heavy!)

So, here is how I made the "Brag box":

"Snow Play" - A Winter Mini album

Hello folks!

In this post, I will share a mini album I had made long back.
I think it was the first mini I made. "Snow Play" captures pictures from a winter snowy day out at Mount Buller.
